Pamela Nugent, the owner of M&P Engineering, recently returned from a visit to Kidco Farms Processing, Inc. d/b/a Minnesota Fresh, Inc. in Minnesota, USA where she saw M&P’s large onion peeler in action. They use sustainably grown fruit and vegetables to produce healthy fruit and vegetable kits.

Kidco & Minnesota Fresh have been a long-standing customer of M&Ps with their two existing large onion peeling machines, and recently a new shallot peeler which is soon to be installed. The shallot peeler was purchased to peel the undersize onions which would normally go to waste and will also give them the option to peel shallots in the future.

Jacob Steidl, Minnesota Fresh’s Maintenance Manager comments, “I really like the mechanical aspect of the M&P peeler and how easy it is to troubleshoot. We are very happy with the support we have received from M&P’s USA distributor Modern Produce Equipment and spares support from M&P’s Michigan facility”.

Pamela Nugent, owner at M&P Engineering comments “My visit involved getting feedback to improve the machines and to offer advice with any issues they are having. It was really a fantastic opportunity to visit the facility and see the M&P onion peelers in action and to help to improve the overall performance of the machines.”

Monte Benz from Kidco Farms Processing, Inc. was also on-site and thanked Pamela for visiting. He commented “It’s always good to have a set of trained eyes looking for improvements and changes. Jacob and crew will be making some design changes along with some of your suggestions on the onion line this summer during the slow season.”
